Otovo cutting staff by 46% amid market slowdown
Sep 17, 2024 12:07 CESTNorwegian hydrogen technology company Hystar AS said today it has hired German industrial engineering firm thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering to supply a 4.5-GW automated electrolyser production line for its factory in Hovik.
Hystar has awarded a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract to the thyssenkrupp unit that will encompass detailed planning and design.

The company noted that the total footprint of the facility will amount to just 2,500 square metres (26,910 sq ft) and will include stack assembly, quality control, and testing. It went on to say that stack components are being supplied by strategic suppliers from an existing, high-volume supply chain, which enables the quick scale up of production capacity.
According to the latest announcement, Hystar’s current manufacturing capacity stands at 100 MW. The company, which specialises in the PEM technology, unveiled plans for its gigawatt-scale expansion last October.
