German solar developer ib vogt GmbH said today that it has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) to support its 50-MWac/68-MWp solar farm project in Bangladesh.

Sonagazi Solar Power Limited, a vehicle sponsored by ib vogt, signed the document with electricity generator and distributor Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDP) and transmission company Power Grid Bangladesh PLC. Under the PPA terms, Sonagazi Solar will benefit from a fixed tariff with the BPDP for around USD 0.1094 (EUR 0.102) per kWh for 20 years.

ib vogt will build the solar farm in the north of the Chittagong District, at a site near the Baraiyarhat 132/33kV grid substation where there is no agricultural activity. The plant will be equipped with high-efficiency bifacial solar panels mounted on fixed-tilt substructures.

The German firm will provide EPC management throughout construction and asset management during operation of the plant, it said.

The solar farm is expected to begin commercial operation in the second half of 2025.
