A Singapore-based unit of German solar developer Ib vogt GmbH will execute a 30-MW/40-MWp solar project in Malaysia for a local subsidiary of Korean rechargeable batteries maker Samsung SDI Co Ltd (KRX:0064000).

Ib vogt APAC will cooperate with its Malaysian partners to build the solar park in the Kuala Muda District in Kedah using bifacial modules installed on a single-axis tracker system.

The project is being developed under Malaysia’s Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) which supports companies to procure and consume renewable energy for their sustainability goals, the announcement says.

Currently at an advanced stage of development, the project is seen to enter the construction phase in mid-2024. Ib vogt said it will structure the project financing and provide EPC-management and asset management services.

Ib vogt APAC’s goal is to reach 1 GW of projects under construction and in operation by 2025.
