BlueFloat, China’s Dajin to partner on floating wind supply chain
Sep 19, 2024 15:04 CESTJul 30, 2013 - Spanish power utility Iberdrola (MCE:IBE) is working on a R&D wind energy project, in an alliance with the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC-CNS), the company said in a press release on Friday.
The two parties are focused on the so-called Sedar Project, an initiative aimed at developing a new computer model to improve estimates of electrical energy production in wind farms before their construction.
Current models have a significant limitation in calculation time, while this project has succeeded in overcoming this shortcoming through the use of supercomputing techniques.
The Sedar Project could have a significant contribution to the technological development of wind power, as it will pave the way for the construction of new onshore and offshore wind farms with greater guarantees of investment, Iberdrola added.
