AES Andes pledges USD 3bn in new solar, storage mega-projects in Chile
Sep 09, 2024 8:07 CESTJul 26, 2013 - Spanish renewable energy company Ibereolica is currently looking for a possible partner to create a joint venture (JV) which will develop some 800 MW solar projects over the next 10 years, the company's general director Cristian Arevalo told Chilean business daily ESTRATEGIA.
The future JV's first objective will be the construction of the 360-MW Pedro de Valdivia plant in Chile. The construction works are planned to start in October 2014. The project's initial budget stands at USD 2.61 billion (EUR 1.96bn), but Ibereolica is trying to cut this sum.
Ibereolica's another solar project in Chile involves the construction of the 400-MW Maria Elena plant. The concentrated solar power (CSP) complex needs an investment of USD 3.29 billion.
