US opens USD 112.5m for wave energy projects
Sep 20, 2024 14:27 CESTTIRANA (Albania), October 10 (SeeNews) – The International Finance Corporation (IFC) said it has signed an agreement to provide consulting to Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania in identifying opportunities for financing renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on small hydro power plants.
Albania is known for having large hydropower potential, but has yet to develop it fully, the IFC said in a press release.
The initiative is part of the broader IFC effort to help local financial institutions in the Western Balkans develop the renewable energy market and increase their investments in the sector.
“We developed a comprehensive advisory package tailored for local banks in the Western Balkans, which will improve their ability to penetrate the clean energy business," Jasper Kjaer, IFC Regional Head of Advisory Services, was quoted as saying.
