Statkraft connects 44.5-MW solar farm to grid in Spain
Sep 19, 2024 15:28 CESTJun 20, 2012 - Ikea Iberica, the Spanish unit of Swedish home furniture chain Ikea, plans to invest EUR 27 million (USD 34.3m) in rooftop photovoltaic (PV) installations in Spain by the end of 2013, Spanish news agency Alimarket-Energia said today.
Ikea Iberica intends to connect to the power transmission network two facilities located in Malaga and Jerez, with a capacity of 2 MW each, by the end of 2012.
Moreover, Ikea Iberica intends to boost the capacity of its existing rooftop PV installation in the store in Seville and the two facilities at the Tarragona logistics centre by 2 MW each.
Ikea Iberica invested a total EUR 42.6 million in sustainability projects in the last six years which led to the reduction of operating costs by EUR 2.5 million annually.
