Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTJul 23, 2012 - Swedish furniture retailer Ikea today unveiled the start of operation of its 1.035-MW photovoltaic (PV) system at its store in the state of Georgia's city of Atlanta.
The system includes 4,312 PV panels which will generate some 1,416,502 kWh of power a year, enough to supply 122 households and save 977 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year, Ikea estimates.
Gehrlicher Solar America, a unit of German solar technology company Gehrlicher Solar AG, developed, designed and installed the project for Ikea.
This is Ikea's 23rd finished solar power project at its stores in the US. Upon the completion of the remaining 16 solar projects, which are under development, the company will have a total installed solar power capacity of 38 MW at its US stores.
