World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTIndian state-owned coal miner The Singareni Collieries Co Ltd (SCCL) is studying the possibility of installing 500 MW of floating solar modules on large water bodies in Telangana.
The company is conducting a feasibility study with Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TSREDCO), the Hindu BusinessLine reports. The two parties are currently discussing whether the project should be implemented on a single location or in five 100-MW stages.
SCCL and TSREDCO are looking at opportunities in Karimnagar, Warangal and other districts, according to the report.
The project is part of the business expansion plan of SCCL, which has already installed solar power systems across 11 areas.
