NTPC’s green energy arm eyes USD 1.2bn from Indian IPO
Sep 19, 2024 11:52 CESTThe Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has invited developers to submit bids in an auction for a 300 MW/1,200 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.
The project will be established under a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) model, and the bidding process will be conducted through e-Tender and e-Reverse Auction.
The battery system is intended for on-demand usage during peak and off-peak hours.
Interested developers are invited to submit bids with a minimum bid capacity of 50 MW and a maximum of 300 MW. Any capacity between 50 MW and 300 MW must be quoted in multiples of 50 MW, otherwise, bids will be rejected, the Indian state utility said in the tender document.
The BESS will be set up near an existing substation within the intra-state network. The UPPTCL, which owns the substation, will handle land identification and allocation for the projects. The land will be leased or granted on a right-to-use basis to the BESS developer.
The project developer will need to apply for connectivity, covering all associated costs.
The full capacity of the project must be commissioned within 18 months from the effective date of the battery energy storage purchase agreement.
