Indian solar plant builder Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd has put on stream a 275-MW DC solar park in Bangladesh, touted as the largest grid-connected complex of its kind in the South Asian country.

Located at Sundarganj, in the Gaibandha District, the photovoltaic (PV) farm covers 600 acres of land and consists of more than 500,000 Longi Solar modules. Its installation was carried out within the scheduled time frame of 14 months, Rays Power said on Tuesday.

The Indian firm was selected to be the project’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in October 2021 by its owner Bangladesh Export Import Co Ltd (DSE:BEXIMCO), or Beximco Ltd.

Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Pvt Ltd will be in charge of the solar farm’s operations and maintenance.

Rays Power noted it has so far commissioned 1.3 GWp of solar PV capacity and is currently working on the development of roughly 2 GWp of projects that it intends to bring online over the next two years.
