Spanish electrical equipment specialist Ingeteam said Tuesday it has signed four operation and maintenance contracts for photovoltaic (PV) installations in Honduras, Uruguay, Panama and the UK.

The plants, located in Cholueta, Salto, Veraguas and Shrewsbury, will supply electricity for 182,500 homes and will offset over 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Thus, Ingeteam expands its O&M services to Honduras and Uruguay and accumulates 1.9 GW of contracted capacity in the Latin American region. In the two countries, the company has previously supplied protection and control equipment for substations of wind and PV parks and has been working with Uruguay's state-owned power utility Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas (UTE) since 2004.

Ingeteam's global operations comprise 6.5 GW of solar and wind power plants and subsidiaries in 17 countries.
