Energy tech firm Flower raises EUR 45m to expand across Europe
Nov 05, 2024 13:32 CESTIngrid Capacity has started the design phase of a 100-MW/200-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sweden which will be connected to energy group E.on SE’s (ETR:EOAN) regional grid in Horsaryd, Karlshamn municipality.
The scheme is described as the largest BESS project built in the Nordics and the first two-hour system developed by Ingrid Capacity.
The two companies initiated the project in 2022. Construction works are expected to start in 2026, while the commissioning is planned for 2027.
The Karlshamn site marks the third project developed by Ingrid Capacity in the county of Blekinge. It follows a 16-MW/16-MWh storage facility in Karlskrona municipality and a 3-MW/3-MWh battery in Karlshamn.
Ingrid Capacity, focused on energy storage, expects to have nearly 30 projects operational across Sweden by 2025. Its broader plan is to achieve 8 GW under management by 2030.
Last month, the company formally inaugurated a portfolio of 14 BESS sites across Sweden with a combined capacity of 211 MW/211 MWh.
