Inox Wind to launch 3-MW turbine in India under new deal with AMSC

Inox Wind to launch 3-MW turbine in India under new deal with AMSC Wind turbines in Gujarat. Author: PeepleWatcher.

Indian wind turbine maker Inox Wind Ltd (BOM:539083) will launch at home a 3-MW turbine especially suitable for low wind regimes as a result of an exclusive agreement with US energy-tech company AMSC (NASDAQ:AMSC).

Inox has been offering 2-MW turbines through an existing licence agreement with the American technology firm and now it will expand its wind turbine generator (WTG) product offering with turbines that have greater rotor diameters and higher hub height towers.

The 3-MW wind turbine platform is a great fit in the competitive tariff environment currently present under the auction regime in India, Inox noted.

More than 15 GW of wind power capacity has been installed globally based on AMSC designs.
