Ceremonies to celebrate the completion of a roughy 20-MW solar farm and the start of construction of another 100-MW project in Iran will be held on Thursday, The Financial Tribune said today.

Swiss company Durion Energy AG and German firm Adore GmbH have built the smaller photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Mahan, Kerman Province. The total investment in the the Mokran solar park, which has more than 76,000 panels, amounted to USD 27 million (EUR 23m).

The bigger solar project of 100 MW is planned for a site between the cities of Kerman and Bam.

The energy minister has announced this month that investors from abroad are willing to pour USD 3.6 billion in renewable energy projects in Iran.
