Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity and the National Investment Commission (NIC) are inviting bids for the construction of four renewable power plants, each with a capacity of 5 MW to 10 MW.

Interested parties will be able to bid for three solar parks in Iraq’s Diwaniya and Najaf provinces and one wind farm in Misan, according to an announcement on NIC’s website yesterday.

Those willing to make offers should file their documents with the commission within 30 days. Every bidder will need to present a project feasibility study, preliminary engineering plans and details about the project funding sources. In addition, the investors will have to mention similar projects they have worked on previously.

The installations will benefit from tax and fees exemptions according to investment law provisions, the statement says.
