Isolux Corsan to build 60 MW PV plant in South Africa - report

Aug 20, 2013 - Spanish energy and engineering group Isolux Corsan and South African Basil Read Matomo have signed an agreement with US solar company SunEdison Inc (NYSE:SUNE) to build a 60 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Boshof, South Africa, news agency Europa Press said.

The financial value of the deal was not disclosed.

The project includes also the installation of a substation and the infrastructure necessary to connect to the ESKOM 132kV network. Its start is scheduled for the beginning of September, while the grid connection is planned for end-August 2014.

This project is part of the IPP Procurement Programme of the government of South Africa. It aims to contribute towards the objective for securing 3,725 MW from renewable energy sources until 2030.
