Italy's Enel Borrows 180 Mln Euro for Wind Farms in Romania, US, Brazil

BUCHAREST (Romania), May 2 (SeeNews) – Enel Green Power, part of Italy's Enel Group, said on Wednesday it secured 180 million euro ($236.4 million) financing for wind energy projects in Romania, the United States and Brazil.

The 12-year loan agreement was signed with the Danish government’s Export Credit Agency and Citigroup, as agent and arranger, Enel Green Power said in a statement.

"This financing will be used to cover part of the investments for the Enel Green Power wind farms Zephyr I in Romania, with an installed capacity of 120 megawatts (MW), Caney River in the USA, 200 MW, and Cristal in Brazil, 90 MW", the company said.

The full amount of the investments for the construction of the three plants is equal to about 670 million euro, the borrower said.
