Italian company Enerray SpA is making progress with the development of a 30-MWp solar project in Cameroon, for which it will also serve as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.

The first permitting steps for the scheme, which the Italian firm is developing with a local partner, have already been completed, according to a statement on Enerray’s website. Earlier this month the project has received an official validation for the selected site in Northern Cameroon, of 70 ha (173 acres), and held a presentation of the scheme.

The photovoltaic (PV) park will be situated in proximity to the Garoua International Airport and will be connected to the local power grid, once completed.

In a separate press release, Enerray said it will also build a 2.5-MWp rooftop solar plant in Thailand for the Thai Metal Trade Public Company Ltd. To be situated in Ayutthaya province, the facility will use up to 7,575 modules that will be able to produce about 3.5 million kWh of electricity per year.
