Chinese solar products maker JA Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002459) said on Thursday that it has delivered the first batch of 5.2 MW of modules to SK E&S, an energy subsidiary of South Korean industrial conglomerate SK Group, as part of their memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement.

Under the MoU, JA Solar is to deliver a total of 200 MW of its n-type modules. SK E&S will exclusively use JA Solar's n-type DeepBlue 4.0 series modules.

The DeepBlue 4.0 product features JA Solar's proprietary high-efficiency n-type Bycium+ passivated contact cell technology, boasting a 26% output efficiency and an open-circuit voltage of 733 mV. The module also incorporates core technologies such as SMBB and high-density packaging, enhancing overall performance and efficiency, JA Solar says.

The modules have a power output of 635 W and an efficiency of 22.8%, with JA Solar calling it “the most powerful product within the industry's 182-series modules”.

The agreement marks the first cooperation between the Chinese modules maker and SK Group.

JA Solar entered the South Korean market in 2011 and set up a subsidiary in 2018.
