A solar power plant with a capacity of 39 MW has recently been hooked to the grid in Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia.

The news was announced by China’s JA Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002459), which supplied all photovoltaic (PV) modules for the project. The company noted that the scheme was contracted by Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Co Ltd (SEPEC), an affiliate of China Energy Engineering Group.

The particular plant is the first of five PV demonstration projects to be connected to the grid in full, JA Solar said.

The modules supplier has been cooperating with SEPEC since 2018, including on the 275-MW solar PV project in Phu Yen, Vietnam.
