Chinese solar products maker JA Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002459) said Sunday it will supply all the photovoltaic (PV) modules needed for a 150-MW PV project in Bangladesh under a cooperation agreement with Bangladeshi conglomerate Paramount Group.

Upon its anticipated completion by the end of 2023, the solar power plant will become the second largest of its kind in the Asian country, according to the announcement.

Daniel Li, sales director of Southeast Asia of JA Solar, expressed hope that the cooperation between the companies will advance the adoption of solar in Bangladesh and create more value for the local solar market. The manufacturer has in recent years been active in the country, which offers favourable conditions for PV development. Previously, the company supplied the modules for Bangladesh’s first large-scale solar power plant, a 28-MW project.

In early 2023, Indian solar plant builder Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd put on stream a 275-MW DC solar park in Bangladesh.
