Japanese wind projects developer Eurus Energy Holdings Corp announced today that it has commenced commercial operations at the 34-MW Eurus Sandaimyojin Wind Farm in Fukushima.

Located in the municipality of Iwaki, along a ridge line of up to 800 metres (2,624.67 ft) mountains, including Mt. Sandaimyojin, the new facility is comprised of nine wind turbines supplied by Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS).

With a 4.2-MW capacity each, the machines are capable of generating enough clean electricity to meet the power demand of approximately 16,000 average households.

Eurus noted that EPC services were conducted by domestic company Kajima Corp (TYO:1812), while Japanese utility Tohoku Electric Power Network Co Inc is the sole purchaser of the wind park's entire output.
