US energy industry contractor Jones Power is set to join construction of two 25-MW utility-scale solar power projects located in Western Pennsylvania, it said on Tuesday.

The company said it has been selected by Babcock & Wilcox Solar Energy Inc (B&W Solar), the solar EPC arm of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc (NYSE:BW), to take part in the civil construction scope of the projects.

Jones Power’s services will encompass all erosion control, clearing, grubbing, construction entrances, culverts, earthwork, stone access roads, stone laydown yards, final seeding, and post-civil site maintenance.

B&W Solar has the option for Jones Power to provide services beyond post-civil site maintenance. In this case, Jones Power’s crew would remain on site throughout pile driving, racking, modules and electrical installation, and commissioning to provide support services by maintaining roads, erosion control, dust control, mowing, among others, through the successful completion of the project, Jones Power said.

Construction of the projects, which began in March 2024, is due to be finalised in the summer of 2024.
