Joules to install 3 MWp of rooftop PV for Bangladesh textile firm Solar array. Author: h080.

Bangladesh-based Joules Power Ltd will install a 3.1-MWp rooftop solar array for local textile company Robintex Group.

The construction of what will become Bangladesh's largest industrial photovoltaic (PV) plant will be made possible through a 20-year power purchase agreement signed at the start of this week. The solar panels will be mounted on the roofs of several of Robintex’s manufacturing facilities in Rupganj, Narayanganj district. They will span a total area of 32,886 sq m.

The power plant will be put on stream in fiscal 2020/21.

Joules Power has set a goal of adding 30 MW of rooftop PV capacity by 2021 to become “a market leader”. Its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner is India’s Mahindra Susten.
