Cero reaches commercial operations at 100-MW solar farm in Greece
Sep 02, 2024 15:01 CESTGerman project developer Juwi Group has recently opened a new office location in Athens, Greece, celebrating its 15th anniversary in the Balkan country’s solar market.
Since stepping into Greece back in 2008, Juwi has implemented over 100 photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined output of roughly 320 MW. Among them is the 204-MW Kozani complex in northeastern Greece, which was sold to Helleniq Energy, formerly Hellenic Petroleum, in 2020 and brought online two years later.
Juwi Hellas SA currently has a team of 60 experts in the planning, development and construction of ground-mounted PV projects. Its managing director Takis Sarris said that the company aims to deploy more than 450 MW solar capacity by the end of 2027 and a further 400 MW by the end of the decade. In line with the capacity expansion, the number of its employees is planned to reach 120 in the next few years.
