Mingyang sets up wind turbine manufacturing JV in S Korea
Sep 05, 2024 13:32 CESTDanish energy consultancy K2 Management has won a contract from a unit of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KRX: 015760), or KEPCO, to help in delivering a 200-MW floating wind project in Korea for the Ulsan consortium.
KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) has contracted K2 Management to develop a high-level strategy for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the floating wind farm, consideration of an O&M procedure, commercialisation and expansion concepts and the design and technical requirements for turbines and floating foundation types.
The project, to be realised about 50 km off the coast of Ulsan Metropolitan city in the East Sea, is currently in the pre-feasibility phase and is supported by the government.
In the past, K2 also provided technical due diligence on a proposed floating project off Taiwan for a potential investor and in addition to that, it delivered a technology and bankability review on a floating project in the UK.
