Danish energy consultancy K2 Management announced on Thursday it has entered into an agreement to buy Cruz Atcheson, a Portuguese sector player that focuses on wave, tidal and floating wind projects.

The planned acquisition of the Lisbon-based independent energy engineering consultancy would mark K2’s entry into the wave, tidal and floating wind sector, the buyer noted. It did not disclose the value of the purchase.

Cruz Atcheson outlines concept design, due diligence and project development support as its three key areas of work. The firm has most recently been named a key partner in multiple flagship EU funded Horizon2020 wave energy projects, including the MegaRoller project by Finnish wave energy firm AW-Energy Oy.

“The synergies between the two companies ensure value creation for our clients, and that we will continue to be at the forefront of sustainable offshore energy solutions,” commented Cruz Atcheson’s co-founder Joao Cruz.
