Kosovo's gross electricity production fell to 1,294.2 GWh in the second quarter of 2019, from 1,868.9 GWh in the previous quarter, Kosovo's statistical agency said on Thursday.

Thermal power plants produced 1,181.8 GWh of electricity, while hydro power plants generated 112.4 GWh, Kosovo's statistical agency said in a statement.

Kosovo imported 251.1 GWh of electricity in the second quarter, up from 225.5 GWh in the first quarter. Power exports fell to 134.2 GWh from 192.0 GWh.

Coal output decreased to 1.74 million tonnes in the second quarter from 2.27 million tonnes in the January-March period.

Kosovo's power consumption increased 21.5% year-on-year to 1,039.5 GWh in the second quarter. Households had a share of 54.9% in total consumption.
