Kyocera delivers 1.05 MW of solar modules for installation at Japanese dairy farms

(ADPnews) - May 18, 2011 - Japanese electronic equipment firm Kyocera Corp (TYO:6971) said last week it had provided 1.05 MW of solar modules for small-scale solar power systems at 105 dairy farms in northern Japan.

All facilities, each of 10-kW capacity, will commence operation before the end of May, providing electricity for milking machines and other equipment at the farms in Hokkaido.

Kyocera supplied some 5,000 modules that are estimated to annually produce 1,210,000 kWh. They will offset 380 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and save the farmers JPY 30 million (USD 368,700/ EUR 259,500) in power costs.
