NTPC’s green energy arm eyes USD 1.2bn from Indian IPO
Sep 19, 2024 11:52 CESTOct 10, 2012 - Kyocera Corp (TYO:6971) and Japanese trader Marubeni Corp (TYO:8002) have installed 160 kW of solar power systems at a healthcare facility and research centre in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The grid-connected solar systems include a 120-kW system at the Diakov Hospital and a 60-kW system at the Research Institution of Obstetrics Gynecology and Perinatology. The projects mark Kyocera's first installations in Tajikistan, the company said in a statement today. The facilities include a total 768 Kyocera solar modules and will generate some 196 MWh of power, enough to save some 62 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, Kyocera calculates.
The Japanese government's Official Development Assistance (ODA) has funded the installations to help Tajikistan increase its power generation capacity and diversify its energy sources.
Kyocera added that it had participated in some 40 ODA projects so far and has supplied above 3 MW of solar systems to countries in Asia and Africa.
