Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Energy has launched an auction, looking for a private partner for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW to 150 MW in the central part of the country.

The proposed facility will be situated in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region, according to a statement published Monday.

The tender will be held in two phases, starting with the Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Interested parties have a May 16 deadline to apply for participation in the following bidding process.

The tender is carried out with the support of Kyrgyzstan’s PPP Center at the National Investment Agency, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, JSC National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan (NENK) and the country’s Green Energy Fund. International Finance Corporation (IFC) acts as the lead consultant for the public-private partnership (PPP) project transaction.
