India-based engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (BOM:500510), L&T, has been declared the winner in an auction for the construction of a 100-MW floating solar site at the Getalsud Dam in eastern India.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) on Monday published a "notification of intention to award," saying that L&T has submitted the most advantageous and lowest offer of just above INR 6.06 billion (USD 73.2m/EUR 67.0m) in the tender.

L&T will be in charge of the design, engineering, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of the installation, among other related activities. It will also remain involved post-commissioning under a five-year operation and maintenance agreement.

The project is located in Ranchi, the capital city of the state of Jharkhand.

Earlier this year, L&T secured an order to build a 75-MW floating solar park on the Panchet Dam in Jharkhand.
