Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), a government agency, has issued a request for proposals (RfP) to select a consultancy that will assess the feasibility of installing a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in the Hermel region, Lebanon.
The selected consultancy is expected to study the technical aspects of installing a plant of at least 50 MW with possible 7.5 hours of storage, as well as conduct an environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) scoping, according to the RfP.
The funds for the study have been secured through the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs under the grant facility Develop2Build, a programme administered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). RVO will also have the final say on the outcome of the proposed CSP project as it will be in charge of evaluating the results of the feasibility study throughout its phases.
Interested bidders can submit their proposals to the LCEC offices in Beirut by November 26, 2019.
In the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) 2016-2020, the Lebanese ministry of energy and water proposed a realistic target of 50 MW of solar thermal power and an optimistic target of 100 MW, both with 7.5 hours of storage, to be installed in the country, the LCEC said.
