French green hydrogen developer Lhyfe (EPA:LHYFE) will supply green hydrogen for the Zero Emission Valley (ZEV) carbon-free mobility project in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region in France.

Lhyfe said on Thursday it has signed a sales agreement with HYmpulsion, which leads the project. Under the deal, Lhyfe will supply 1.6 tonnes of hydrogen per day for seven of HYmpulsion’s hydrogen stations in the Alps over a period of 10 years.

The hydrogen will come from a 5-MW green hydrogen plant that Lhyfe plans to build in Le Cheylas by mid-2025. This electrolysis facility will be located at a former steelworks waste storage site and will have daily capacity of 2 tonnes. The facility will also cater to local industrial companies.

"This project will provide a supply for the HYmpulsion stations, in addition to the hydrogen from our 2 MW electrolyser (approximately 800 kg of hydrogen a day)," noted Thierry Raevel, chairman of HYmpulsion and regional director for Engie.

HYmpulsion’s shareholders include the Auvergne-Rhone Alpes region, Engie, Michelin, Credit Agricole and Banque des Territoires.
