Liebherr announces installation of 1st CAL 64000 heavy lift crane on wind farm support ship

Oct 9, 2012 - German heavy machinery maker Liebherr Group said Saturday that its first CAL 64000-1500 Litronic heavy lift offshore crane has been installed on the Innovation offshore wind farm support vessel of HGO InfraSea Solutions.

HGO InfraSea Solutions is a joint venture of German builder Hochtief (ETR:HOT) and GeoSea, part of Belgian marine engineering company Deme Group.

The vessel installs offshore wind power stations in the Global Tech I wind park in the North Sea.

The crane has been developed by Liebherr's unit Liebherr-Werk Nenzing. It has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,500 tonnes and can be positioned in a space-saving way, requiring a relatively small obstruction area of only 12 m (39 ft), the group said.
