Lithuanian solar energy company Solitek will invest 80 million euro ($89.7 million) in the construction of a 100 MW photovoltaic (PV) park in Bosnia's Sokolac, the municipal government said.

Solitek will build the solar power plant in a consortium which includes companies from Poland and Serbia, the municipality of Sokolac said in a statement on Wednesday.

The mayor of Sokolac, Milovan Bjelica, expects the investors to start the construction works in the following two months, he said.

Another consortium comprising companies based in Germany, Spain and Serbia is interested in the construction of another 80 million euro PV plant in Sokolac, the mayor added, without disclosing further details.
