Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTLuxembourg has awarded 14 projects with a combined capacity of 52.7 MW in the country's first agrivoltaic (agri-PV) tender.
The selected projects cover an agricultural area of 73.5 hectares (181.6 acres), Luxembourg's energy ministry said this week.
Spread across the entire country, these projects will integrate renewable power generation with agricultural activities including fodder and herb production, cattle and sheep grazing, as well as chicken and Iberian pig pasture in meadow areas. Additionally, there will be fruit trees and crop cultivation on arable land, as highlighted by the ministry.
Eight of the agri-PV systems will be equipped with trackers while four installations will be conventional ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. One project will involve a shade roof and another one will feature bifacial solar modules.
The ministry sought to allocate 50 MW of capacity in the maiden auction.
