Denmark’s MacArtney A/S has completed the site acceptance test for a Horizontal Single Blade Mounting (HSBM) tool designed to fit the new SG 11.0-193 DD offshore wind turbine developed by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE).

The tool aligns the nacelle hub and allows for the horizontal mounting of each blade, the offshore specialist said. It is now ready for immediate market use and, according to MacArtney, has been preapproved for a “significant German wind farm project”.

The site acceptance test took place in Denmark at the Osterild test field where Siemens Gamesa recently completed the installation of a prototype of its 11-MW wind turbine.
