Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CEST(SeeNews) – Dec 6, 2011 – UK-based Malaby Biogas plans to launch a 500-kW anaerobic digestion plant in Warminster, southern England, in the second quarter of 2012, GreenWise said today.
The GBP-5-million (USD 7.8m/EUR 5.8m) Bore Hill Farm Biodigester will be capable of processing of up to 20,000 tonnes of food waste. The plant's output will be transferred to the National Grid and to nine business outlets, which are to start operating at the site in 2013.
Moreover, the farm will generate 15,000 tonnes of digestate, to be sold as an alternative to common fertilizers.
Malaby Biogas is a sister company of rural property developer Malaby Martin, which is seeking to enter the renewable energy sector.
