Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe Health Ministry of Malta on Monday initiated a new solar rebate programme for residential photovoltaic (PV) panels, using EUR 15 million (USD 16.9m) in financing from the EU.
The new PV panel funding scheme could benefit up to 7,000 households, local newspaper The Independent reported. The programme, for which applications will be accepted as of next month, will cover half of the solar array costs.
At the end of last year, Malta Today reported that the country has set a target to source 5% of its energy from 190 MWp of solar power plants in 2020. This would be half of its 10% renewable energy target, whilst the other 5% will come from bioenergy plants, heat pumps, waste-to-energy plants and solar thermal systems.
