Pan-European infrastructure investor Marguerite has offloaded its 10% stake in the 325-MW C-Power (Thornton Bank) wind farm in the North Sea, the first offshore complex in Belgian waters.

The interest was purchased by existing shareholders in the project, Marguerite said in a LinkedIn post on Friday without providing financial details about the transaction. Marguerite invested in the scheme back in 2011 through the Marguerite Pantheon SCSp alternative investment vehicle.

Located on the Thornton Bank some 28 km north of the Belgian coastline, in the country’s exclusive economic zone, the offshore complex was commissioned in three stages between 2009 and 2013. It is equipped with 54 Senvion turbines that are generating around 1,000 GWh of electricity annually, equal to the power consumption of around 300,000 homes.

Thornton Bank was developed by C-Power NV, among whose shareholders are France’s EDF Renewables, the renewables arm of German energy group RWE AG and Belgium’s Deme Concessions.
