Masdar signs roadmap for up to 500 MW of solar in Ethiopia

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, better known as Masdar, has signed a roadmap agreement in relation to its plan to build up to 500 MW of solar power plants in Ethiopia.

The agreement was signed by Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE minister of industry and advanced technology and Masdar chairman, and Ethiopia’s minister of finance, Ahmed Shide. The signing was witnessed by UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who visited the East African nation.

The roadmap deal follows the signing of a joint development agreement between the two sides during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023 in January.
