McDonald’s, Neutral Fuels to make biodiesel in Dubai

Jul 4, 2011 - The UAE arm of US fast-food chain McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD) and Neutral Fuels LLC, a unit of Dubai-based Neutral Group, plan to jointly build a biodiesel production unit in Dubai.

The plant will convert used vegetable oil from McDonald’s outlets in the UAE into biodiesel, the partners said. It will be capable of producing one million litres (264,000 gallons) a year.

As part of the project, McDonald's will convert its local fleet of trucks to biodiesel.
