McPhy Energy SA (EPA:MCPHY) is set to supply its 1-MW electrolyser and a hydrogen filling station to French green energy firm Valorem for the Rouen green hydrogen valley project in France.

Valorem and its construction unit Valrea signed a contract to order McPhy’s McLyzer electrolyser product and a 350-bar McFilling station to realise the Rouen Vallee Hydrogene (RVH2) project in Greater Rouen area in Normandy, the French hydrogen equipment specialist said on Monday.

This is the fifth hydrogen hub project that McPhy is involved in, following others in Toulouse, Clermont-Ferrand, Strasbourg, and Belfort.

The RVH2 scheme will involve the installation of the McLyzer to produce green hydrogen and fuel a fleet of 14 buses through the filling station. Any excess hydrogen generated on-site will be loaded into tube trailers and sent to local industrial sites to assist them in meeting their green hydrogen needs.

The McLyzer will be entirely powered by green electricity generated by Valorem, McPhy said.

The Valorem Group and McPhy also signed a contract for the provision of maintenance and technical support for eight years. McPhy and its preferred partner for the equipment maintenance, TSG Group, will provide the service.

The supply and maintenance of the 350-bar filling station will be subcontracted to French hydrogen stations and dispensers maker Atawey as part of McPhy’s proposed sale of the stations business.

All of the equipment for the RVH2 project is expected to be commissioned in January 2026.
