British broadcaster and telecommunications company Sky UK Limited has agreed with Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust plc (LON:ORIT) to procure more than half of the power generated by the 46-MW Crossdykes wind farm in Scotland.

The companies have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) which is set to come into force as of April 2025. The contract, signed at a consumer price index (CPI)-linked fixed price, covers 69% of the output of the farm, according to a statement released today.

The 10-turbine Crossdykes site is located in Lanarkshire and has been active since June 2021. It is expected to generate about 144 GWh of electricity annually, an amount enough to meet the power needs of around 50,000 homes.

ORIT bought a 51% stake in the Scottish facility in 2022. Another Octopus-managed fund took the remaining 49%.
