Aspen Power monetises ITC credits from two-state PV portfolio
Sep 20, 2024 7:04 CESTA UK-based clean energy firm formed by Swiss energy group Meeco AG and property investor Peter Virdee has completed the installation of a 3-MWp solar-plus-storage system in Antigua and Barbuda.
PV Energy Ltd has completed the plant at the VC Bird International Airport in just three months and is currently commissioning it. The facility consists of over 12,000 ground-mounted polycrystalline photovoltaic (PV) panels combined with Meeco’s energy management and storage system, called sun2safe.
This solar park is part of an agreement between PV Energy and the government of the twin-island country that calls for the addition of 10 MWp of solar power capacity in total. The initial system is able to generate up to 4.645 MWh of electricity per year, according to a press statement from Meeco.
The Swiss group noted that the already completed installation is a partial substitute for fossil fuels in Antigua.
