German energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) has clinched deals to supply green electricity to technology conglomerate Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) from 374 MW of solar parks in the US.

The Facebook owner will procure the electricity under two long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) tied to two of the Essen–based company’s projects, according to a press statement on Tuesday.

One of the off-take deals will see Meta receive power from RWE’s 274-MW County Run solar project in Illinois’ Clark, Coles and Cumberland counties and the other one will provide it with electricity from the 100-MW Lafitte project in Louisiana. Both photovoltaic (PV) plants are currently under construction and are planned to go online in late 2025.

The PPAs will back Meta’s commitment of supporting its global operations with 100% renewable energy. “Partnering with renewable energy providers like RWE to bring new solar energy projects online is an important part of our approach to energy procurement,” said Urvi Parekh, head of renewable energy at Meta.
