Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Nov 4 - 8)
Nov 08, 2024 17:12 CESTNov 23, 2012 - Finnish industrial machinery company Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) will supply a biomass-fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Varnamo, Sweden, which is expected to produce 13.4 MWth of heat and 3.6 MWe of electricity.
The order, placed by municipal utility Varnamo Energi AB, is worth some EUR 17 million (USD 21.9m), Metso said today.
The plant is expected to start operations in the autumn of 2014. It will be fuelled with local forest residues such as bark and wood chips.
Metso booked the order under its Pulp, Paper and Power unit in the fourth quarter of 2012.
