Moldovan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility okays 120 projects

The Moldovan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (MOSEFF) said it has approved 120 energy efficiency projects to be funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Some 62 projects have already received a total of 15.2 million euro ($20.3 million) from the partner banks, Moldova Agroindbank, Moldindconbank, Banca Comerciala Romana and ProCredit Bank, MOSEFF said in an emailed statement, made available to SeeNews on Friday.

The sustainable energy projects developed under MOSEFF have already saved a total of 96,400 megawatt-hours (MWh) equivalent to the annual consumption of 42,800 people. This has resulted in a 31,500-tonne reduction of CO2 emissions.

The MoSEFF was launched in February 2010 and in 2012 the EBRD extended the MoSEFF by providing new funds of 22 million euro.
